Doyle and Millicent Stiles papers, circa 1880-1970.

Materials created and/or used by Doyle and Millicent Stiles, newspaper publishers, editors, and printers, in their newspaper, "The Caldwell Messenger," published twice weekly in Caldwell, Kansas. The Stiles owned the newspaper and associated job printing business from December 1942 to December 1972. The collection includes working notes, draft manuscript articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, and correspondence, all dated from circa 1880s-1970; and photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s that were used in the Caldwell Messenger's large "Border Queen" special edition.

Charles Doyle Stiles (1909-1990) and Millicent Chloe Landrith Stiles (1913-2000) were newspaper publishers, editors, and printers.
